So its been about 2 weeks since we started this quarantine and G and I have actually been handling it relatively well. It’s been a good time for us for this to slow down. I’m a yes man so I often find myself overwhelmed by too many projects on my plate, but I was ultimately forced to put all of that aside. So I’ve been using the time to organize every aspect of my life, develop a fully articulated purpose so that I can finally get focused on implementing the ideas that will propel me towards my ideal future. Like everyone else, we’ve been having lots of Zoom meetings, FaceTime calls, and emails mostly with tons of great news despite the pandemic, which is really miraculous.
We’re doing whatever we can to stay positive. I’m glad that my office space was set up in time for me to be working from home primarily. Sunlight flooding through the big bay windows and vibrantly bounce off the vibrant colors is inspiring without mention, and that’s exactly what I need when I’m in the creative zone. So I’m grateful that I’ve set up my home to be someplace that I can enjoy for long periods of time. Either way you gotta make the most of it, and I see many people doing that! It’s no doubt that the performing arts have been shattered due to this virus, yet people are finding ways to make it work.
Cross culturally, we’re finally starting to embrace the benevolence of social media and push our ability to connect virtually to unprecedented limits. We’re discovering how much we can do with virtual conferences and seminars. We’re coming to terms with the fact many of our in-person meetings could have been wrapped up in an email. We’re learning how to cook food at home. We’re recognizing the incredible power that we possess to freely support each other with a like and a comment. What I’m most excited about is how we use our recently discovered technological utility once the world returns to its new normal. Will this, at last, free those of us stuck in the cubicles of corporate America?
