2020 Has Me Looking Forward to 2021… And I don’t mean what you think.

This is unfortunate, but here’s the thing about working with people of color that some may not know: WE WILL NOT BE ON TIME! NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO! I know, I know. It’s terrible, but many of us have just come to accept that this is something embedded in our DNA. Or is it? In this episode of The Devil’s Advocate, Ace & Akron discuss whether CP Time should be accepted as fact or the lazy man’s myth.

My year in review

WOW! 2020 has been quite a busy year for me. Despite all the chaos, my wife Gabrielle and I stayed true to our word of making this year a successful one. We began the year by producing Poetic Dinner Parties featuring excerpts from my spoken-word based solo performance. In February, we celebrated the release of a music video for an up & coming Dallas music artist. In March, we premiered Creation of Asshole: a spoken word experience for my birthday, March 16. April was the launch of a website and branding project that I was commissioned to design for a new stylish female activewear brand, Solely Fit. April 29th, we celebrated our wedding anniversary, and I self-produced cinematic monologues to enter several online festivals and competitions. In May, I was recognized by a major casting director, Leah Daniels-Butler, after winning the Quarantine Monologues challenge. June, I wrote I AM A MAN, an Award-winning reflection poem about the impact of George Floyd’s death. We also celebrated Juneteenth, and I shot my first SAG feature film with Neal McDonough. In July, I wrote, designed, directed & produced a short film with 4 other incredible artists across the country called My Black Body Is. July 2nd was Mid Year Day, which commemorates making it through half the year, giving you a chance to reorient yourself towards a better second half of the year. You might be thinking, “How could Ace’s year get any better???”  Well, in August, I shot my second SAG film… and then a third! All of this while shooting various commercial campaigns. #BOOKEDANDBLESSED September, Team Grace finally moved out of Dallas to become free agents and follow our dreams of being globally renowned creative icons. October, we found ourselves in LA to personally meet Leah Daniels-Butler and my new LA talent managers at CMA Entertainment while Gabrielle shot a Food Network tv show! Then, when I got back, SMU commissioned me to lead a one-on-one conversation with SPIKE LEE! He was very impressed with me and asked for my headshot… TWICE! In November, Gabrielle finished writing her cookbook, so it was now time for me to design and develop the book. December 17th was the world premiere of Colorful Home Cooking with Gabrielle Reyes, and our 352-page plant-based extravaganza is now available digitally at OneGreatVegan.com. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of how 2020 has been for ya boy, Ace Boogie! When the blessings of life overflow, I have no choice but to spread the wealth with my team, and while this year has been great, I’m always looking towards the future. So with 2021 around the corner, you already know Mr. Anderson is plotting and planning some dope new works for y’all in the new year! So I want you all to keep a lookout for my emails, subscribe to my YouTube channel, follow me on IG and turn on notifications for my posts because I’m going to be making some major announcements in the coming months. I hope that you’re as hype as I am about what is to come! If not, as always, I invite you to align yourself with Truth, trust your passion, and I promise you will ACE YOUR LIFE!
